Created by artist Lisa McDermott, the “Welcome World” mural at 33 West Grand Street features bold lettering and flowers, bringing public art to a busy downtown arrival point.

The project commemorates America’s 250th anniversary and complements the new Elizabeth Museum at 14 Julian Place. Together, these additions invite residents and visitors to explore the city’s historic landmarks and cultural connections.

Organized by the Elizabeth Destination Marketing Organization and project partners, the mural’s ribbon cutting was scheduled for October 8. The artwork provides a new point of interest for neighbors visiting Elizabeth’s walkable downtown.
