First Baptist Church of Kenilworth Plans Annual Turkey Giveaway

As Thanksgiving approaches, First Baptist Church of Kenilworth will again offer a practical way for local households to prepare for the holiday table. The church’s annual Turkey Giveaway is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 7, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 225 North Eighth St. in Kenilworth.

The giveaway will provide one turkey per household while supplies last. By sharing a staple of the Thanksgiving meal, the effort gives neighbors an opportunity to stretch their grocery budgets during a season when food costs and family gatherings can place added pressure on household expenses.

The church has framed the annual event around “sharing hope, love and Thanksgiving blessings with our community.” That message is reflected in the straightforward purpose of the day: helping families take home an essential item for their holiday meal without a complicated process or admission charge.

Residents considering a visit should plan to arrive during the listed giveaway window rather than wait until the end of the day, as distribution depends on available supply. The flyer does not list registration or eligibility requirements, but it does specify the one-turkey-per-household limit.

The giveaway is being presented under the leadership of Bishop Nathan Gainer, D.D., senior pastor, and Executive Pastor Regina Gainer. For information about the event, contact Valerie Norman, director of community and corporate partnerships, at 908-343-1608.
